Entrecard Generates Junk Traffic But do not just get panic over it
There are bloggers writing obituary on Entrecard[ 1 , 2 ] ; their plea is that Entrecard not doing anything great for them, reason, they says it just creating junk traffic for them. Obliviously bloggers dream for plenty of unique loyal visitor who frequently visit their blog read their posts and make comments but if you sign up and place an Entrecard widget on your blogs most of the traffic you receive from it are of those visitors who just visits, Search for your Entrecard widget, drop one and leave. But still I recommend that you should stick with Entrecard and remain cool and calm, I will tell you why.
What is your Entrecard visitor’s Bouncing Rate?
Bounce rate measures the percentage of people who come to your website and leave “instantly”. Bounce rate measure quality of traffic you are acquiring. In case of Entrecard Traffic source usually it stands around 80 to 90 % for a common site. That mean the 80% or 90 % of traffic from Entrecard Source drop their cards and instantly leave your site. But how would you answer this “if somebody not found your site and its content worthy to spend some quality time for reading and commenting on it, then it’s your fault or his fault” I need your comment especially on this.
Who says Entrecard droppers are not unique visitors ?
Have you gone thru this stats report on Entrecard which displays the top Entrecard Droppers on your site? Do you know them before this Entrecard concept? I believe there are some visitors who are visiting and dropping their cards regularly on your site. May be they are from those remaining 10% or 20% visitors of your bounce rate analysis stats..
I could never found these sites if Entrecard wasn’t there
Am also visiting various blogging sites and dropping my cards. In the last one month I come across some really interesting sites, which off course I would not found if this EC wasn’t there for my help. Am giving here some brief list of some good new sites I discovered thru Entrecard..

It was not possible for me to advertise my site with Johnchow if Entrecard wasn’t there
On 17th of this month my 125X125 Entrecard widget was there on Johnchow for the whole day. It was not possible to do so the other way ($$$$). I was very happy and on that very day my Visitors graph Jump upward and comedown like a Poll Walter.

So in the nutshell wht hold you back not to stick with this beautiful concept of Entrecard. Moreover is there any price you are paying to get this hell lot of people visiting your site for a second , I don???t know why few people making shout and talking negative about Entrecard concept, Well its working for me Hope it working for you also..

Shanker, out of your 5 points, I don’t agree with point 1 at all. If not completely, one must have little tech knowledge partially or else doing everything on your own is not always possible. You are calling this point a myth because you have tech on the tips of your fingers but what about the general people?
So, alongwith internet knowledge, one must have little tech knowledge.

Having technical knowledge does help much though.

Costly in terms of time, and what hosting package you go for. Normally it is not a costly affair unless you take up a dedicated hosting package.

Not everyone makes BIG moolah online, some make it though. Their success does not come in a day, however.
[Myth No. 4: Blogging is a hobby not a Profession]
To most, Blogging is a hobby for them, since it is not that easy to make moolah off blogging. It takes time, perseverance, etc.
[Myth No. 5: For Blogging you need lots of free time]
Now if you do not invest an adequate amount of time into it, you would not progress as fast as you would desire it to be. Ample amount of time is still required.

I agree with all your points but I still think blogging needs a lot of time. A lot of time to think about what to post and a lot of time to bloghop, haha!
Having technical knowledge does help, if you are into serious blogging, but for the casual blogger who only update a few times a week, then blogger.com or wordpress.com has everything for the casual blogger. Don’t need to learn rocket science to blog.
Another thing is that yeah, sometimes blogging takes little time, but if you are serious blogger, then it really does take a lot of time, because you have to plan your blog post and present it nicely. It’s does take time, however for the casual blogger, it doesn’t take much time to write out a post…… you don’t need to think much about anything.
yeh, blogging is not an hard work.
Its a fun, little money making and helps in your boredom.
